Refresh
Refresh can be as simple as rearranging the furniture and audiovisual equipment or hanging wall art and photos in pleasing themed groups. Next, editing and shelving collections and decor to suit the purpose of a room will make a world of difference. Going further, we can consider the new floor plans or repurposing rooms throughout the whole house.
Refurbish
Refurbish includes repairing, refinishing, and repurposing favourite pieces of furniture. Use what works well for you, then, if needed, select new pieces to increase comfort and pleasure in your space. Anything that no longer meets your needs can be sent to its new home. Changing floor and window coverings, repainting walls and trim, and restoring or replacing lighting fixtures will completely change your space.
Renovate
Renovate involves anything structural such as removing or changing walls, adding a window, or replacing built-in cupboards. It also includes adding or changing wiring or plumbing. I will guide your planning with questions, suggestions, and sketches. If needed, I can prepare you for a building permit application and coordinate tradespeople.
Downsize
Downsize and/or move may be the most difficult and emotional of your design challenges. Techniques are simple; sort in three boxes; Keep, Donate, Trash. We are there to provide guiding questions, be your sounding board, coach you through the process, then take the discards away! Then we help you refresh and restore what remains; in place or in your new place.
